Miss Jessie's Curling Pudding -- In Review

Miss Jessie's Curly Pudding

"Get in control of your natural curls with Miss Jessie's Curly Pudding. This cream prevents curl shrinkage, eliminates frizz and adds superior shine to your hair, so you can enjoy your curls in even the toughest weather."

Miss Jessie's advertises the following:

  • Created for naturally curly, kinky, and wavy hair
  • Eliminates Frizz
  • No More Curl Shrinkage
  • Maximizes Curl Length and Makes Your Curly Styles Last Longer
  • Adds Superior Shine and Healthy Luster, Never Dull

Let me preface this review with the following:  this product will not make the Curly Girl Method Holy Grail list!  It's second product is the demon of hair product ingredients "mineral oil."

For me, this is NOT a problem!  In fact, my 3b/c curls loves, loves, and let me say it again LOVES mineral oils and silicones!  There, I said it!

I do understand the drying effect that these products can cause when used long-term.  However, I'm a wash n' goer as my primary go to style and am co-washing tresses every three days and washing with a stronger shampoo every 10 - 12 days to ward off product buildups.

My tresses HATES long-term usage of only natural oils which, for me, caused an on-slaught of Single Strand Knots due to the coiliness of my hair that tends to wrap and tangle.

Product Ingredients:

Water, parafinium liquidum (aka mineral oil), glycerin, triethanolamine, fragrance, carbomer, PEG-12 dimethicone, dipropylene glycol, silk amino acids, aloe barbadensis leaf extract, avocado oil, shea butter, sweet almond oil, jojoba seed oil, macademia seed oil, oleth-05, ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate, disodium EDTA, DMDM hydantoin, ext. violet 2

How I Used the Product:

I co-washed with Tresemme Moisture Enhancing Conditioner, rinse some out, and applied the Miss Jessie's Curling Pudding on "extremely" wet hair.  I created 14-sections and twisted my hair, tied-down my hair and went to sleep.  Needless to say, my 3b/3c hair was still damp (I don't apply heat to my hair). so I re-tied with a scarf, commuted to work, and took down the twists.

RESULTS

Pros:

  • Goes on Smoothly
  • A Little Product Goes A Long Way
  • Product Works Great on Hair Types 2 to 3c's
  • Light Smell/Fragrance (smells flowery)
  • Love the Lavender Color
  • Shine is Long Lasting
  • Product is Easy to Find in Stores and On-Line
  • Consider an High-End Hair Product
  • Product Line Works Well Together
  • Product Comes In an "Unscented" Version Also
  • Product Does Provide a Strong Hold
  • Will Make Curly Hair Curlier
  • Keeps Hair Moisturized
  • Frizz Kept to a Minimum
  • Can Last Up to Three Months With Proper Usage
  • Tutorials Are Provided On Use of Miss Jessie's Products
  • You Can Now Purchase in a 2-ounce jar for $11.99 on Amazon.com

Cons:

  • Price not Reasonable for Average Consumer
  • Can Cause Severe Crunch and Flakes When Too Much Is Used
  • May Not Play Well With All Conditioners and/or Moisturizers
  • Not A Holy Grail Item for "Natural-Products" Naturalistas
  • Most 4b to 4c's Don't Have Great Results (However this is a CURL-Enhancing Product!)
  • Using Too Much Will Weigh Hair Down and Make It Tacky/Sticky
  • You Can Find A Cheaper Product -- "Let's Jam" That Can Give You Similar Results

My Final Thoughts:

The product is able to do what the product says that it can in capable hands.  There is a learning curve, but no more than other products that I've used.  Looking at my hair now, it has great body and isn't matted or "glued" together.  Hair is touchable and shiny.  The nature of 3c hair is frizz.  So to be honest, I have some but my common practice is to mist hair by mid-day anyway.

The movability of my tresses are remarkable!  I'm kinda liking this Miss Jessie's Curling Pudding, even though it pans out to a "small investment!" LOL!

Will I purchase again!  Definitely!

Crowning Glory Coils and Kinks: Winterizing Those Tresses

Crowning Glory Coils and Kinks: Winterizing Those Tresses

Winterizing Those Tresses

The strong winds of winter can wreak havoc on your moisture-needing tresses!  Brittle and limp curls is not a sassy look or Hair of the Day coif!  This is the time when many naturals close the book on their time-saving wash n' gos.  However, for me, this is my main style and closing that book is not so easy to do on these 3b/c/4 curls.

My curls love, love glycerin and from natural blogs across the nation, we are admonished to abandon the glycerin because it pulls moisture from the atmosphere which will keep your locks moist but in the winter season it does quite the opposite.

So what's a natural wash n' go girl to do?  Here are a few tips:
  1. At night section hair and lightly moisten hair with water and coconut oil (you can use olive oil, or oil of your choice) apply mixture to hair, twist, cover hair with a clear shower cap, and tie a scarf over cap (optional) and go to bed.
  2. When rising in the morning, hair will be slightly moist, style and go about your morning routine.  This method will allow your tresses to be damp and drying but scalp won't be soaked if you have to run out before hair is completely dried.
  3. Another idea is to leave the plastic shower cap on and cover cap with a stylish hat or scarve and commute and upon your arrival to work, style hair as usual.

Share with us ways that you and your tresses keep nourished and stylish through the cold, winter months.

III Sisters of Nature Gelo

This Gelo is being marketed as a hair gel.  Not only a hair gel but one comparable to the infamous Kinky Curly Curling Custard!  Now, that's saying a lot!

I found this product on the shelf while I was perusing the aisle of my neighborhood Beauty Supply Store!  I did have a good reason to be in there.  I was waiting for the Chinese restuarant, a couple doors down, to cook my broccoli and garlic sauce!  Okay!?

Well, I read the label and saw that it claimed to be comparable to Kinky Curly Curling Custard boast, I just simply decided to try it.  What's another gel on the shelf going to harm?  The price seemed fixed at $9.99, this was clearly printed on the product's label!  Yea, for 3 Sisters of Nature!

Below is the description of their product by 3 Sisters of Nature:

III Sisters of Nature Curling Gelo Description -- 8 ounces

What is Curling Gelo?

III Sisters of Nature Gelo define and elongates curls while enhancing your natural wave pattern.  Curling Gelo is formulated using natural ingredients to condition, strengthen, nourish, soften, and give curls and waves a natural brilliant shine.

Why Does Curling Gelo Work?

Curling Gelo helps keeps you frizz-free, non-greasy, non-drying, and superior long-lasting curls, waves, and twists.  Compare to the more expensive brands and save.

How I used the product

I co-washed my3c hair with Pantene Naturals.  Rinsed out the conditioner with COLD water and then reapplied the conditioner as a leave-in.  Sectioned hair into eight large loose twists and covered with a clear treatment cap overnight.

In the morning, hair was damp and I shingled the III Sisters of Nature Gelo throughout each section.  Hair was visibly shiny and clumped well.  Hair was more elognated more than with applying EcoStyler over the leave-in conditioner.

Product dried quickly, THERE IS NO STRONG HOLD!

Pros

  • 8 ounces can be purchased from $9.59 to $9.99 -- Making Product Affordable
  • Product Was Easy to Apply
  • Dried in an 1-hour time span
  • Hair was Shiny and Bouncy
  • Hair was Very Soft
  • Most Beauty Supply Stores Carry Samples
  • Defines Curls and Waves
  • Product is Very Concentrated
  • A Little Goes a Long Way
  • Contains Polyquarternium 37
  • Played Well With My Leave-In Conditioner
Cons
  • Still had some frizz by midday
  • Can Become Tacky if you use too much
  • Product is High in Gylcerin
  • When Refreshing With Water, Gelo was very sticky but dried again soft
Polyquarternium 37 is a charged polymer used in hair care products.
Benefits:  They are positively charged, they neutralize the negative charges of most shampoos, relaxers, and hair proteins.  The positive charge bonds to your strands aiding in causes your hair to be easier to comb, elasticity, softer, and shiny.  It also acts as a conditioning agent for your hair.

Side Note:  Cantu Shea Butter Leave-In Contains Poly-37

III Sisters of Nature Gelo is clear and filled with tiny bubbles like the bubbles in 7-Up soda or clear EcoStyler or IC Fantasia Gel.  Product  It smelled like a bucket full of crushed cherries.  Smell may be too loud for some.

Final Thoughts About Product

This product, to me, acts more like a "curl activator" that you can find on shelves at most Beauty Supply Store.  My hair happens to love glycerin and was happy with this product.  If you are even looking for a "flexible hold," this is not the product to use.  If you are looking for a moisturizer and shine factor, this is a great product for that use.

By midday, I noticed some frizz, spritz with plain water and was back in business as I waited for hair to dry.

As far as being a competitor to Kinky Curly Curling Custard, the clear distinction is that this is Gelo and KCCC would be classified as a gel.

Would I repurchase?  Yes.

 Cold Water Hair Rinses
Who doesn't like a hot bath?!  Feels good to the body; however, it can frizz out,the strands of hair on your head.  Hot water leaves the cuticles of your strands open, while cold water closes them.

This allows the cuticle to close in the moisture that our hair so badly needs.  This also allows the hair to be more reflective and smooth to the touch.
You should rinse out your conditioner with cold water and not hot.  However, if the cold water rinse doesn't given you warm thoughts, I suggest that when it is time to wash out your conditioner that you "cool" down the water to your best tolerance.  Now, I usually will gradually cool the water down until it gets "cold."  I continue to rinse out the conditioner and then quickly return the water to hot to warm up my body.
The benefits of doing a cold rinse:  stimulates your scalp, creating stronger roots, will cause less shedding, and retainage of moisture, and will close the opening of the sebaceous glands to moderate sebum production on scalp.  I've seen one YouTuber, who when she applies her products to her natural hair, fills her application spray bottle with ice filled water and sprays each section with the cold water and then applies her product.
Some have complained that their hair feels "rough" after a "cold rinse" and this has been attributed to using water that was "too hot" while shampooing and/or applying conditioner.  Another cause can be attributed to using protein-related shampoo and/or conditioner which will cause the hair to swell from an overload of protein.
If "hard" hair is still a problem, add some vinegar during your rinse or to your spray application water bottle.  Closing your cuticle will help your hair be less frizzy.
Finally, remember that products that are high in alkaline will cause the cuticles to OPEN and you'll end up with frizzy hair.  Acidic products, like vinegar and aloe vera juice, will CLOSE the cuticle for a smoother strand.
A cold rinse may not warm your shower but will do wonders for your tresses!

Bantu Knots

Bantu/Zulu Knots

Bantu knots are another protective style created to give your tresses a much needed rest.  A simple use of twisting and twirling will enable you to enhance your individuality and style.

What are Bantu Knots?

Bantu knots are also known as Zulu knots.  They are created when the hair is sectioned off and twisted into knots. The shapes of the sections depend on how the hair is parted, and can easily be made into diamond, triangle or square shapes, and the possibilities are endless.

This hairstyle can be worn on any hair type and any hair length, although it is popular amongst people of African descent, thus the term Zulu Knots.  For modern natural Divas, Bantu Knots are a way to wear the hair so it is protected form the elements and close to the scalps beneficial oils.

How to do Bantu/Zulu Knots?

1.  Detangle

Detangle your hair in preparation for the Bantu Knots.  Hair will need to be detangled
and smooth in order to get the best results.

2.  Preparation for Bantu/Zulu Knot

Working with one section at a time, smooth your hair and twist it.  Spritz water from a spray bottle on each section as you go, or use gel or hair oil for shine. Twist the hair firmly.

3.  Twist Hair Into Knot

Take the twist and wrap it around itself in a circular fashion to form what looks like a knot. As you do so, you will see that the hair will coax itself into a circular or spiral formation.

4.  Secure your Hair

Tuck the end of the twisted strand under itself.  At this point, you can use cloth, rubber  band or hair pin to secure your Bantu knot.   If you use hair pins to secure your Bantu Knots, just remember that sometimes the pin will shift as style gets older and may tend to "pinch" the scalp and cause much discomfort.  It's Natural suggests:  Do not use a tie that is too tight because it could break your hair, and choose something that is not too noticeable or can be hidden under the hair. Try using hair-ties made out of pantyhose for comfortable wraps that can usually be hidden underneath hair.

5.  Part Hair in Desired Sections

Bantu/Zulu Knots Styling

How large or how small you part your sections is strictly limited to your parting and sectioning skills of yourself and/or your stylist.  Shapes and parts can be as small as a 1 x 1 section to 3 x 3 sections.

Flat twists, ponytails, and smooth sections can also be incorporated into your style.  Your creativity sets your limits.

Twist-Outs

This is an important step in defining how your twist out results will ultimately be.  Larger knots will become large, voluminous curls and waves.  Smaller Bantu Knots will result in tighter and coily spirals.

Therefore, for twist outs, the general rule is:  if you want more volume, twist hair in larger sections.  If you want a curlierer twist-out, you should twist in smaller sections.

As a side note, some naturals will two-strand their hair before twisting their tresses in a Bantu Knot.  This gives the hair a more "textured-wavy" look.   My suggestion is to first try the "smooth" method first and graduate up to the two and even three-strand Bantu Knot look.

Styling Options

Finally, Bantu or Zulu Knots can be worn for as long as a week or two.  They  are considered a protective hairstyle that allows your tresses a time of rest and non-manipulation.  However, many naturals have "untwisted" this iconic African hairstyle and it is now known as the infamous "twist out!"

After hair has been twisted and knotted, hair is allowed to dried over night or sometimes over a few days and then untwisted for a cascade of beautiful wavy and curly tresses.

This style can be worn on either relaxed or natural tresses with great results for both hair textures, short or long hair!

It can be done on either dry, wet or damp hair.

Happy Bantu/Zulu Knotting! -- Rocking With Style and Grace!

Curls Unleashed "Set It Off" Curling Gelly -- In Review

I had previously purchased the "Curls Unleashed Defining Creme" and loved it. My curl pattern ranges from 3b to 4a. My hair is wavy to very coily and that product worked great for my hair. However, that product doesn't have a "hold" and for all intent and purposes, wasn't designed too, so I decided to try the Curl Boosting Gelly to maintain moisture, hold back frizz, and give me a light to flexible hold.
I purchased my jar of the Curls Unleashed Curl Boosting Gelly from Duane Read and paid $12.99 for a16 ounce jar which I felt was a great price compared to other "higher-end" holding gels.

Curls Unleashed™ Set it Off™ Curl Boosting Jelly is made with soothing aloe vera, wheat protein, vitamin B and other ingredients to help give you gorgeous, “crunchless” curl definition.
• Defines curls without the crunch
• Helps eliminate frizz
• Provides all day hold
This product helps eliminate frizz without making your hair feel hard or crunchy. Great for all types of hair. This product is free of SD alcohol, parabens & mineral oil. Packaging is BPA free and recyclable.

Ingredients
Aqua (water), glycerin, ppg-5-ceteth-20, polyquaternium-11, peg-12 dimethicone, propylene glycol, aloe barbadensis leaf juice, glyceryl acrylate/acrylic acid copolymer, panthenol, hydrolyed wheat protein, amodimethicone, trideceth-12, cetrimonium chloride, carbomer, triethanolamine, parfum (fragrance), benzyl benzoate, coumarin, d-limonene, linalool, ci 60725 (violet #2).

Ingredient Attributes: paraben free

My Application of Product

I am a avid wash 'n go wearer and purchased this item with that in mind. As most wash 'n go wearers know, you need a "good" gel to maintain your style while combat-ting frizz.
I applied this product to hair that had already been co-washed, a leave-in conditioner applied (TREsemme Naturals), and Shea Butter was used as an sealant. I did dampen my hair and applied about two quarter size amounts of the Curls Unleashed Curl Boosting Gelly in the palms of my hands and worked it throughout my damp hair.
Product glided on smoothly and was very lightly tropically-scented. Immediately I noticed that the product gave my hair a nice shine and wasn't nearly as tacky as other products that I had tried and reviewed.
My Final Thoughts on Curls Unleashed "Set It Off" Curling Gelly
I loved, loved, loved the product.
Pros
  • I didn't have to use a large amount to get proper coverage.
  • Product dried, on damp hair, under 30 - 45 minutes
  • Gave a light, shiny hold.
  • Held down frizz throughout the day
  • Price Point is Great!
  • Hair was not the bit hard or crunchy!
  • Experienced Less Shrinkage with this product.
  • Doesn't Have parabens
Cons
  • Product is NOT completely natural but has other great natural ingredients included.
Hair with Curls Unleashed "Set It Off"Curling Gelly

This was the first gel(ly) that I could actually shake my hair and SEE movement! Curls had bounce for days! (I'm smiling yall! Can't you see me?!)
I must say that the product left my hair unbelievably SOFT and pliable.
Would I purchase again? This is MY new Curl Gelly! It warrants a Holy Grail product status!
Let me know your experience with the product and feel free to leave a comment. Thanks again for stopping by!
Happy Curls to You!

TREsemme Naturals

If you are in search for a conditioner that will increase hydration of your tresses, Tresemme Naturals is a must try! It is easy to find and has a great price point for the volume of product that you get.
Ad most of us know, natural hair is in need of a product that will allow you to maintain moisture throughout the day. This product will help you do this.
For those of you who are doing the Curly Girl method, this product can be used in this regimen.

How I Applied Product

While in the shower, I lightly rinse hair and then applied the Tresemme Naturals. I grab my hair in as if I'm going to put my hair in a pony tail and apply the conditioner from front to back. Then I split my hair in the middle and apply additional conditioner. I then "smooth" the product into my hair until I'm sure that I've covered all my hair.
I let the product sit for several minutes and rinse out with "cold" water and then apply about a quarter-size amount of the conditioner through my tresses as a leave-in. Most of the time I am doing this at night so following the rinse and re-application of the conditioner I'll cover my hair with a clear shower cap (or baggie) and go to bed.
In the morning I'll remove the clear shower cap and apply Shea Butter or Styler of my choice to my damp tresses and I'm out the door!
Pros
  • Has a ph balance of 4.5
  • Product has a light tropical fragrance
  • Has a Creamy and Light Consistency
  • Easy to Apply
  • Great as a Co-Wash Conditioner and a Leave-In
  • Economical (Product Lasts a Long Time)
I purchased my bottle of Tresemme Naturals from Walmart for $4.77 and this bottle I purchased two months ago and I still have over 1/3 of the bottle still left. A little goes a long way and detangles hair very easily.

Ingredients:

Water (Aqua) , Stearyl Alcohol , Cetyl Alcohol , Caprylic , Capric Triglyceride , Stearamidopropyl Dimethylamine , Fragrance (Parfum) , Lauroyl Lysine , Caprylyl Glycol , Brassica Campestris , Aleurites Fordi Oil Copolymer , Aspartic Acid , Distearyldimonium Chloride , Persea Gratissima Oil (Avocado) , Citric Acid , Alcohol , Isopropyl Alcohol , Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice
Put Love In Your Hair Recipe
You Will Need:
  • 4 Tablespoons of Shea Butter or Jojoba Oil or Coconut Oil or Olive Oil
  • 4 Tablespoons of Tresemme Naturals (or your favorite Conditioner)
  • 2 to 3 Drops of your Favorite Essential Oil
Mix:
In a small plastic or glass bowl, mix all your ingredients and apply generously to wet or damp hair. Cover tresses with a clear shower cap (baggie) and let it sit overnight or as long as you can.
Rinse out in the morning. You can also use this mixture as a daily leave-in (especially for 4 texture types).

My Final Thoughts!

The application of Tresemme Naturals Conditioner is usually enough to keep my 3c tresses moisturized throughout the day. However, for my 4a, b, c natural friends, you may need to add an oil to ensure maintenance of moisture in your strands.
This product is one of my favorite conditioners, Giovanni Direct Leave-In is the other.
Overall, I'm very satisfied with this product and will repurchase.
Thanks for visiting!

Curls Unleashed Organic Root Stimulator -- In Review

"Take Command Curl Defining Creme"

Perfect for:  Kinky Textures (3c and 4's)
Great for Twists, Twists Outs, Coiling, Freestyles
Shingling and Updos
Moisturize and Define Your Curls Without Shrinkage and Flakes

The search for a "Holy Grail" product is always a quest in progress.  Well ladies I've come across a new product line for "naturals" or people with wavy, curly, and kinky textures!

Most hairlistas, will admit to having a "little" product junkism tendency.   This is fueled by our desire, our need to find the "perfect product" that we can apply to our tresses without a lot of ado but consistent successful results.

Naturals know all too well, that our tresses can be very tempermental.  Also, natural hair can be resistant to our desire no matter how much product is applied and no matter how much coaxing is used.

I decided to try the product since its advertisement stated that it was good for 3c hair types.  My hair ranges from 3b to 4 and I prefer a creme-based styler in contrast to a gel.  Organic Root Stimulator's Curl's Unleashed Curl Defining Creme product description is as follows:

Curls Unleashed Take Command Curl Defining Creme is ideal for curly and kinky textures.  Made with coconut, sweet almond and safflower oils, our curl defining creme moisturizes, defines and elongates tightly coiled curls, and does so without flakes or shrinkage.

Fragrance:  A light mango, watermelon fruity smell that doesn't stick around or becomes
                      annoying.

Consistency:  Thick and creamy and smooth.

Packaging:  Clean, Contemporary, Eco-Friendly

Price:             $12.99 to $17.99 - I purchased mine from Duane Reade for $12.99

Size:               16 ounces

Product Ingredients:

AQUA (WATER), SODIUM C14-16 OLEFIN SULFONATE, SODIUM DISODIUM COCOAMPHODIPROPIONATE, COCAMIDOPROPYL BETAINE, POLYQUATERNIUM-7, COCAMIDE MEA, GLYCERIN, POLYQUATERNIUM-10, HYDROLYZED KERATIN, YARROW, HOPS, ROSEMARY, CHAMOMILE, LEMON BALM, OLEA EUROPAEA (OLIVE) FRUIT OIL, PPG-5-CETETH-10-PHOSPHATE, DEHYDROACETIC ACID, BENZYL ALCOHOL, DISODIUM EDTA, CITRIC ACID, PARFUM (FRAGRANCE), BENZYL BENZOATE, HEXYL CINNAMAL, LILIAL, LYRAL, METHYL IONONE.

MY RESULTS:

From past product experience, I felt that I should apply the product on wet hair.   I used Tresemme Naturals, as my leave-in.  The product went on smoothly and my tresses began to clump rather nicely and were well-defined.  Within 45 minutes my hair was dry, shiny, and bouncy.  I was very impressed.  Hair had a soft, flexible hold which I like.

Hair did feel well moisturize and I did get a little more hang from my tighter coily section in the back of my head.

PROS

  • Easy to Apply
  • Creamy and Thick
  • Light, Mango/Watermelon Fragrance
  • Good Price Point
  • Earth-Friendly Packaging is a Huge Plus
  • A Little Goes A Long Way

CONS

  • Best Applied on Damp to Wet Hair
  • Can Cause Damp Limp Hair if Too Much is Applied
My overall opinion is that Organic Root Stimulator has put out a great natural product line for us natural ladies.  The clean, contemporary packaging is attractive and easily accessible for use.  Would I purchase again?  Yes, this product has moved to first place in my line up!  At least until the next upsurper in search of the Holy Grail product.

Happy Curls to You!

Mixed Chicks Leave-In Conditioner -- In Review

Mixed Chicks Leave-In Conditioner

I purchased this product after my beautician had done my b/c (Big Chop) and I was trying to figure out how I was going to take care of the hair that I had left on my head. She told me that some other clients of hers had recommended this product for natural hair care.
It took no time to locate the website and make my purchase.
When visiting their site, I liked the clean, contemporary, and earthy feeling of the site. There were great pictures of the creators themselves displaying the diversity of their curls. It also displayed pictures of young girls with diverse hair types to show you how well the products worked on children.
They do have stand alone products just for children.

Mixed Chicks Leave-In Conditioner

This product is promoted to "define your curls and block frizz."
This product has been created/designed for "us" who they say are "many." The creators,Wendi LEVY and Kim ETHEREDGE,are themselves of "mixed" heritage but persists in the following philosophy toward hair: "Even if you are not mixed, you may have frizz and unruly curls, right?"
While there concept may be true, there are those who tresses are curly and are not of mixed background that feel the product does not cater to there 4a,b,c hair types.
The creators also suggest that this products tames frizz and define curls on "many hair textures and weaves (synthetic or human).

Product Ingredients

Water, glycerin, amodimethicone, emulsifying wax, hydrolyzed wheat protein,/pvp crosspolymer, methylgluceth-20, hydroxypropyl trimonium choloride, octyl methoxycinnamate, hydroxyethyl celloluse, jojoba oil, safflower oil, primrose oil, wheat amino acid, crosilk, hydrolyzed collagen (marine), phenoxyethanel, methylparaben, proplyparaben, butylparaben, FD&C red #40, FD&C yellow #5, fragrance
Sulfate Free

Review of the Product

I liked the fragrance of the product first off. It went on smoothy and I was able to disseminate it throughout my tresses easily. I didn't have to use a lot (at that time I had about an inch of hair!) I did find that at the end of the day my hair was a little crunchy but personally, that doesn't bother me. It did define my curls well and kept it frizz-free.
I purchased my first 10 ounce bottle in March of 2010 and as of July, 2011, I still have the same bottle. The reason being is that as my hair grew longer, it took much more of the product to get a good "defined" look which caused my hair to become "hard!" It also seem to dry my 3c hair out which then caused me to move on to another product.
I did find "refreshing" the product for another day was not as successful as when you completely re-co-washed my hair and then re-applied the leave-in conditioner.
